Dr. Shannon Good

- Founder

Dr. Shannon Good is a native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada but she now resides here in the beautiful state of Georgia. Dr. Shannon graduated From Life University in March 2011 where she specialized in pediatric chiropractic. Following graduation Dr. Shannon continued her postgraduate education and became certified in pediatrics by the academy of chiropractic family practice. When Dr. Shannon is not taking care of her busy pediatric and perinatal practice she teaches at Life University where she is adjunct Faculty.

It was through her certification training and experiences in private practice that lead Dr. Shannon to realize that more was needed to be done to support our women. We can do better…. & It was this realization that eventually lead her to the BIRTHFIT movement. In 2018 Dr. Shannon along with Dr. Kristin founded BIRTHFIT COBB COUNTY to support the women of Cobb and the metro Atlanta area through all facets of the motherhood transition.

Dr. Kristin Steele

- Founder

Dr. Kristin Steele was raised in Avon lake, Ohio and spent her undergraduate years at Kalamazoo college where she graduated with a BA. Dr. Kristin Graduated from Life University in June 2011 with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree as well as a Masters in sports health science. Following graduation Dr. Kristin worked with athletes all over the Atlanta area.

It was through her work with her local Crossfit gyms that Dr. Kristin realized that more education was needed to help women return to exercise safely in the postpartum period. It was this awareness that lead Dr. Kristin to the BIRTHFIT movement. In 2018 Dr. Kristin Along with Dr. Shannon founded BIRTHFIT COBB COUNTY to support the women of Cobb and the Metro Atlanta Area through all phases of the motherhood transition.

Christina Kidd- Coach

Christina is a Level Two Crossfit Coach at Crossfit 11:24 in Marietta Ga and a Mother to a little one. Christina found BIRTHFIT through BirthFit Cobb County. She uses the BIRTHFIT programming along with chiropractic and nutrition to prepare for the birth & recover postpartum. Christina as been a personal trainer and been teaching group fitness for 8 years now. “Overall health and wellness in every aspect is very important to me and I want to share my knowledge to help everyone I can.” Christina coaches our regularly scheduled BIRTHFIT FITNESS classes at Crossfit 11:24.

Chris Casillo -

Coach

Chris has a decade + worth of coaching and programming experience in the Crossfit arena. He grew up here in Georgia and graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Exercise & Health Science. Interested in Crossfit he took an internship and became a Crossfit Coach in 2010. From there he earned his USAW sport performance coaching certificate, and then his advanced sport performance coach certificate . Constantly wanting to improve his ability to coach he has attended a wide variety of workshops & seminars. It was through his constant search for knowledge that he found BIRTHFIT. Chris became a BIRTHFIT coach in 2019 because he found it to be a great way to help the women he coaches through their motherhood transition.

Jayne Smith- Coach

Jayne Smith is a retired collegiate Gynmast, and a Level One Crossfit Coach, she has been coaching for 9+ years. She found BIRTHFIT through BirthFit Cobb County while on her Pregnancy/ Postpartum Journey . She is a Level one precision nutrition coach and is extremely passionate about helping people move well and life a well fed life. Jayne coaches our regularly scheduled BIRTHFIT FITNESS Classes at Crossift South Cobb & CrossFit 11:24.

Monique

“Moe” Travis-

Coach

In 2007, Mo joined Knuckle-Up Fitness to try and lose weight after the birth of her first child. Once she joined the gym she embraced the martial art of Muay Thai & Brazilian Jujitsu and started competing in both sports. She is a Multi time world champion in Muay Thai and a pro fighter. After the birth of her Second Child she earned her black belt in BJJ. She has been a Crossift level one coach since 2010 She is a personal trainer and a kick box instructor.

“ I was introduced to BIRTHFIT through our regional directors and I knew after my second BIRTHFIT Power Hour that I needed to attend the BIRTHFIT Coach seminar. I became a BIRTHFIT Coach to help any women that wants help Prenatally or in the postpartum period. I want to help guide women through the motherhood transition so that they do not make the same mistakes I made as an athlete coming back from having our second child. Now that I am pregnant with our third I am very excited to practice what I have learned.”
